My startup Planypus – the place where friends make plans, has just passed the 1000 user mark! And it’s all grassroots users coming through word of mouth invitations and blogs and articles written about us. We have not advertised at all!

Tonight we had a poker and movie night and all my friends commented how ever since Planypus came around they are seeing each other more and more. That just made me so happy to see we’re making a difference in people’s lives. Even if it’s a trivial thing like going out and seeing more of your friends, I’m glad Planypus makes it easy. I think it’s because we took the pain of organizing away..just suggest something and let your friends do all the dirty work of figuring out where and when! Thanks to all the alpha users. I hope to blog here about our 10,000th user very soon!
