This is very strange and surely a case of bad message “framing.” The Rabbis ruled several years ago that having the orders be queued over holidays and making sure that money is only collected on weekdays was enough.

When I was living in Japan the ATM machines would close at night and on national holidays. At that time cash was preferred over credit cards for everyday purchases like food. So we had to get through Golden Week on what cash we happened to have on hand before the machines went on vacation…!
