I'm gonna have a hard time waiting for rev 2. But these things should have pretty good resale value I think when rev 2 comes out, sell off rev1, lose maybe $100...pretty good usage fee for a year or so, methinks?

HTML5 is an open standard that all browsers will support. With the benefit of open implementations, we're likely to see improved performance (not your-cpu-takes-a-shit when you run a flash movie). Apple making this move is going to make everyone start migrating to html5 like YouTube and others are already trying. It'll just happen faster. You can already run youtube in html5 mode - http://www.youtube.com/html5

Not sure I agree with your claims about dropping support for Flash. Unlike IE6, which is truly a relic of the past and has much more superior alternatives in the form of FF, Chrome, Safari, just to name a few, what would be an alternative for Flash? Javascript, with all its power and fanciness is just not up to the job, when it comes to dealing with Video or Audio, (maybe its good enough to do visual interactive graphical stuff). With flash being the de-facto standard and available and present in every single browser out there, it presents a very nice and common platform developers could build things on. So unless browsers start providing the same capability as a built-in feature, and that being common across all the browser flavors, I doubt that dropping support for Flash is a wise and necessary move.
